It Takes a Village: Hello Kitty in a Photo Shoot
It's amazing how styling can really elevate an accessory. I mean this is a little Hello Kitty cocktail hat I made. Cute on its own but not as glam or quirky as styled in this photo shoot. My friend Lindsey (Hi chica!) is a professional stylist and she used my hat for a photo shoot and I love how it turned out. A great pic along with a great stylist, photographer, hair stylist and make-up artist (and designer...ahem)can really create an unspoken mood. So think about the behind-the-scenes of a glossy page the next time you open a magazine. Remember a team creates that fantasy of the fashion image you love.
Hope you enjoy!

One for all...
V magazine has created a fantastic photo shoot for their Jan. 2010 issue. They placed two models(JACQUELYN JABLONSKI and CRYSTAL RENN)of two different sizes (model thin and model plus size 16) in the same clothes and put the photos together to show that size ain't nothing but a number. Both of these women look great but it's complete eye candy to see Crystal Renn look fierce and fabulous. (She is the size 16 model for reference, on the right.) Sometimes I find that fashion images can be stale because the models all look the same. This photo shoot just seems like a breath of fresh air. I want to see more people of all colors, sizes and genders looking fan-flaming-tastic! This is a good start.
I hope you enjoy the beautiful images.

Lady Gaga Barbie
Veik, a 29-year-old doll enthusiast and skilled DIYer from Beijing has created the ultimate Barbie doll for 2010! It's Lady Gaga personified in plastic and just as outlandish or fierce depending on what side of the fence you fall on.
Oh how I wish Mattel would jump on this idea and create a line of Pop Culture Barbie and Ken dolls...oh Mattel let it be true! Every fashionable girl and boy wants to own their very own Lady Gaga doll. Imagine the accessories...
Who do you think would make a great pop culture doll? I think Rihanna would be a good one...maybe Adam Lambert for Ken? But is he that popular? Input please!

Learning Lessons...Project 10 Pan Update
Happy New Year Everyone!
I hope you are looking forward to all new adventures of 2010! I'm sorry that I haven't been posting much or making youtube videos but my computer has gone bust. All will be well soon so hang in there with me.
Second, I have been really trying to work on Project 10 Pan and I have learned that I have quickly disregarded really good products. When I first bought the YSL Perfect Touch Foundation and the Eclat Poudre Compacte (powder compact)I kind of thought that I wasted my money. I didn't love the finish and I thought the brush was annoying. Well I cut off the brush and I really like how the foundation applies on my skin. I think the powder is really great too.
These two products have sat in my make-up drawer for ages but now that I have seriously given them a chance I love them. I am thinking about repurchasing the foundation again....but then again I want to try the new Nars Sheer Matte foundation.
But first things first...finish expensive YSL foundation. With Project 10 Pan you get your monies worth!
As a side note I have finished four products so far...must keep focused to finish 6 more!
Let me know how the project works for you too!
Happy Fashions,
Elisa
