Learning Lessons...Project 10 Pan Update

Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope you are looking forward to all new adventures of 2010! I'm sorry that I haven't been posting much or making youtube videos but my computer has gone bust. All will be well soon so hang in there with me.

Second, I have been really trying to work on Project 10 Pan and I have learned that I have quickly disregarded really good products. When I first bought the YSL Perfect Touch Foundation and the Eclat Poudre Compacte (powder compact)I kind of thought that I wasted my money. I didn't love the finish and I thought the brush was annoying. Well I cut off the brush and I really like how the foundation applies on my skin. I think the powder is really great too.

These two products have sat in my make-up drawer for ages but now that I have seriously given them a chance I love them. I am thinking about repurchasing the foundation again....but then again I want to try the new Nars Sheer Matte foundation.

But first things first...finish expensive YSL foundation. With Project 10 Pan you get your monies worth!

As a side note I have finished four products so far...must keep focused to finish 6 more!

Let me know how the project works for you too!

Happy Fashions,
Elisa

Hard to Buy, Hard to Use: PROJECT 10 PAN

Recently I've come to the conclusion that I have WAY, WAY too much makeup that goes unused. (I bet my sister is thinking...yeah I told you so). Well she is/was right. I have so much that goes untouched even though I worked really hard to buy it. So from this official moment I am going on PROJECT 10 PAN.

Project 10 Pan is for all you makeup junkies out there like me. My goal is to use up 10 full size products in its entirety before I buy one new thing. (Note: Pan refers to an eyeshadow or blush pan in a compact. Dry products tend to be put in a pan.)

So if you are a junkie like me and have amassed a mountain of makeup then join me in this quest to pair down for the New Year....or at least make room for all the new collections of 2010. LOL!!!

Heaven help me =D

Happy Fashions,
Elisa

Face of the Day: MAC & Shady Lady from theBalm

I really liked how my make-up came out today so I thought I would share!
For the eyes:

*used LUSCIOUS LANI from theBalm(light pink shimmer)on inner eye

*then EASY WHEEZIE from theBalm (shimmer blue/grey) along the lashline to the outercorner and up to the crease

*then used SCENE(grey) from MAC to darken it a bit.

*then CARBON (matte black) from MAC to vamp up my lash line and outer 'v'

lined the eyes with SMOLDER eyeliner from MAC

For the Lips:

*lined lips with Camerareadycosmetics lipliner in PRETTY (nude) and filled in a bit

*used NYX lipstick in CIRCE (nude) to fill in the inner lip area

*Finished with NYX FRENCH KISS (light shimmer pink) lip gloss

*and MAC SUGAR TRANCE (pale, pale pink almost nude-ish) lip gloss in the pout area

For the Cheeks:

MAC Magic, Mirth, & Mischief lipstick/lipgloss swatch

From left to right:

Top: Suprise Me, Utter Fun, Pervette
Bottom: Jingle Jangle, Total Wow! She-zam

Review: Lippies were very pretty. I really liked she-zam as it seemed to be the real stand out! It is a silver frost/glitter dazzleglass. 'Surprise me' was my favorite lipstick of the bunch. And I thought pervette was part of the permanent line...but I could be wrong. It is still really pretty though :)

MAC Style Black and Dsquared swatches

I have to say that these two collections are my fav. The Style Black mineralized eyeshadows are so pigmented. I have seen reviews on youtube saying they were just a bunch of glitter. But I didn't really find that to be the case. They had more substance to them and I think a valid addition to anyone's collection that likes a smokey eye and a bit of drama. I LOVED IT!

As for Dsquared: GREAT! The greasepaint sticks were two really great colors but I do think that if you use a paint pot or a gel eyeliner you can get the same effect. They had great staying power on my hand but my hands are very dry compared to my eyelids. But if you wear a lot of purple or blues it might be worth checking out. There lipsticks were TO DIE FOR!!! I wanted them both as they were sooo pretty. I didn't try the contour and highlight compacts as I have plenty of those shades.

So two thumbs up for me on these collections. I can't speak to staying power but the colors were amazing. Yes, I am gushing over makeup...ahem! xD

Here is a little glaminar and IMAT proof!

I just wanted to add these pics to go along with my other posts! If Kandee is in your area I highly recommend you checking her out! She is so sweet and knowledgeable! Her youtube address is: http://www.youtube.com/user/kandeejohnson

Also at IMATS I saw makeupbyrisa and queenofblendingMUA at the yabi booth and itsjudytime walking around. These are make-up artists and/or lovers who have youtube channels and blogs... it was so insanely busy I didn't have time to chat. But it was cool to see the youtube community out in full force.

Glaminar and IMAT update!

Just a small mention about the Glaminars held by Kandee Johnson in LA... they were great. I think if you are interested in getting in to make-up she is a good place to start. I learned so much it's crazy! And with all the knowledge I gained from the glaminars I was able to go to IMATS and buy some great things for my kit. Everyone should check out Yabi cosmetics and own a beauty blender sponge. Also I went to Camerareadycosmetics.com and bought the rest of my kit. If you are starting out and need foundations I would highly recommend the RCMA palettes in Shinto and KO. They are HD ready....Ok, I am going a bit deeper then I wanted to without pictures. But they are to come next. Some picutes will be of Kandee and I and then some of the products I bought.

Bye for now...! :)

GLAMINARS AND IMAT

So I am on countdown now because I am going to Kandee Johnson's make-up seminars in Los Angeles. If you haven't seen her tutorials on youtube then you must be under a rock. It's under Kandeethemakeupartist on youtube.I am so excited. I am going to all three dates!!!That's Friday, Saturday and Sunday... Eek. And on Saturday after the seminar I am going to IMATS 2009 in pasadena. Apparently a lot of youtubers like xsparkage, petrilude, fafinetterx3 and others are supposed to attend. I wonder if I will see anyone or even recognize them. But I am looking forward to getting make-up and make-up tools at a discount from IMATS. Plus Kandee has set it up so that those who attend her Glaminars also get a special discount at certain booths at IMATS!!! YEAH! So looks to be an awesome weekend.
